Series II: University Files,, 1936-1973
Dates
- 1936-1973
Scope and Contents
Summary: Contained in this series are numerous documents that are directly connected to Rutgers University. The groupings within this series are very diverse. The main portion of the series is professional correspondence as a faculty member (also, prior to joining the faculty staff, but still tied to Rutgers) within and external to the University betwen 1936 and 1972, inter-Zoology/Biology departmental memorandums 1945-1973) and Bureau of Biological Research meeting minutes and correspondence. Some files cover key university events such as the building and dedication of the Nelson Biological Laboratories from 1959 to 1962, University Bicentennial in 1965 and 1966, the retirement of President Gross in 1971 and the inauguration of President Bloustein, 1971-1972. There are administrative files dealing with the Nelson Portrait Fund from 1956 to 1960, Thurlow and Dorothy Nelson Undergraduate Fund, 1964 to 1972, and correspondence and mementos from President Gross. The amount of material varies by subject and most likely is only representative of the total University administrative record during the years of Stauber's tenure with Rutgers.
