I. Photographic Files

Summary:There are 200 black-and-white photographs and 21 negatives in this series. Eight additional snapshots and one additional negative are housed in Series II, where they are appended to correspondence about Martin that was solicited on a special occasion (see Box 3, Folder 5). The majority of the photographs in this are 8 x 10 inches in size. Smaller print sizes represented in the collection are 5 x 7, 6 x 8, and 4 x 5 inches. Named photographers or photographic companies represented in the collection are: Abbatiello; Allan Cleaves Dodge (Drexel Hill, PA); F.J. Higgins (Highland Park, NJ); Thomas D. Mulhern (Milltown, NJ); Russ Stanton and Thomas Mulhern; and Tarza Studio (132 Hamilton St., New Brunswick, NJ). The collection contains multiples of several of the photographs, especially of the portraits. A large number of the photographs have no dates.
