Scope and Contents

Summary: Whenever possible, the materials occur in chronological order, oldest to most recent. The LIS Courses of Study folders contain lecture notes, syllabi, class rosters, various teaching aids, and documentation of activities regarding Independent Study and Distance Education. The arrangement begins with 610/Library Science courses in numerical order, followed by the remaining courses in numerical order. Within this grouping one finds a great number of essays, newspaper clippings, journal articles, and other materials intended for class distribution and study. The documentation in these folders indicates that Pamela Richards taught close to two-dozen different courses ranging from Introductory Library and Information Studies to Doctoral Seminars in Library and Information Studies. In the Evaluation and Recognition grouping the materials affirm that both students and scholars respected and admired Pamela Richards' erudition and her talent for sharing her knowledge.
