Summary: Materials on Susan Cavin's Doctoral Dissertation, An Hystorical and Cross-Cultural Analysis of Sex Ratios, Female Sexuality, and Homo-sexual Segregation: Versus Integration Patterns in Relation to the Liberation of Women, Rutgers University, 1978. Cavin eventually published the dissertation as Lesbian Origins. The series contains correspondence between Cavin and her advisor, Martin Oppenheimer; the comments of Cavin's dissertation committee which resulted in changes in the direction her work was taking; and various drafts and notes. Proofs of Lesbian Origins are filed here, as well as a taped interview with Cavin.
