Scope and Contents: Lubell 10/7: 328 Gouache (with black ink) of a woman’s torso. She is seated, doing mending. In one hand is a patched cloth and a needle and thread is in the other. To the right is a washboard and to the left is a pot-bellied stove with a cooking pot on it and a plant with flowers. This is painted on heavy, patterned scratch board and the colors are predominantly gray and black, with the cloth, some detail in white and the flowers in pink. Scope and Contents: Lubell 10/7: 346 Gouache (with black ink) of a small town on the edge of a bay, with hills rising across the water. Silhouettes of people and dogs struggle to move through the windy street, while telephone poles and trees bend in the wind. The color scheme is bleak: dark grey for most of the colored parts, black roofs, objects, and bodies, light grey for the horizon, and red for a swing set and mailbox.
