Abstract
Papers, consisting of Goldmann's New Jersey Superior Court decisions; files relating to selected Superior Court cases; files pertaining to Goldmann's involvement in investigating and serving in Trenton city government; files reflecting Goldmann's service in the executive branch of New Jersey state government, especially as Executive Assistant to Governor Charles Edison; files concerning the 1947 and 1966 New Jersey Constitutional Conventions; files on various legal and judicial issues, including New Jersey court administration; files reflecting participation in a variety of (Trenton) community and regional organizations, especially Jewish welfare agencies and the Trenton Council on Human Relations, but also including historical societies and anniversary celebration committees; files on the history of Jews in Trenton (which consist in part of notes and published articles by Harry J. Podmore); and documentation of Goldmann's various talks and public appearances. Among the items included that pertain to Trenton history is a draft manuscript, by Carlos E. Godfrey, entitled "History of the Trenton Barracks." A variety of document types are included in the papers, among which are judicial opinions, letters, memoranda, broadsides, event programs, speeches, reports, unpublished histories, certificates of incorporation, constitutions and bylaws, meeting minutes, budgets, lists, notes, press releases, press clippings, photographs and pamphlets. Among the correspondents represented are: George Anthiel, Alfred E. Driscoll, Walter Edge, Charles Edison, Richard J. Hughes, Arthur T. Vanderbilt and Arthur Walsh.
