Scope and Contents

Notebook, kept at Paterson, Passaic County, N.J., entitled "Knowledge of Silk," that also includes a partial autobiography. The volume's contents are listed at the front as: Warping Department; Weaving Department; Caculations [sic] of Silk; Raw silk; Artificial silk; Dyeing and Finishing; Entering and Twisting; Winding Department; and Loomfixing Department. At least two of these headings have no text; however, other information relating to silk is included that is not listed. In addition, several cloth samples (swatches) are present in the volume.
