Abstract
The collection is comprised mainly of a diary, both the original and a typed transcript, dating from 1824-1828. Also imcluded are reference materials, which includes biographical materials regarding the Crane family.

Biographical / Historical
Elizabeth Crane lived from 1775-1828. She was the daughter of Jonathan Mulford, Jr. and the husband of John Crane. She lived and died in the old homestead on what is now Springfield Avenue, near New Providence, in the Passaic Valley, Union County, New Jersey. The homestead was settled by Joseph Crane, father of John Crane, in May 1764, and was in the family until 1911. It was torn down in 1967.
