Biographical / Historical
Samuel Leake was born in Cumberland County in 1747 and was admitted to the Bar in 1776. He opened an office in Salem initially but moved to Trenton in 1785 where he acquired an extensive practice. He frequently appeared in the Supreme Court, associated with or opposed by the leading lawyers of that day.
