Scope and Contents
Box 1 contains financial documents, legal documents, log books, photographs, and printed materials, while Box 2 contains correspondence. Papers in these boxes are not separated by family member.
Box 3, an addendum, contains the papers of Alice B. Whittingham and her father, Walton C. Whittingham, both residents of Millburn, NJ. Other materials include the papers of Alice's sister, Elizabeth R. Whittingham, her mother, Elizabeth H. (Renwick) Whittingham, and her maternal uncle, Edward B. Renwick. Alice B. Whittingham's papers consist chiefly of letters received (1909-1938). Her sister, Elizabeth R., is represented by a notebook and realted items pertaining to oversees travels (1928). Letters received and receipts (1889-1902) comprise the bulk of the papers of Walton C. Whittingham. Papers of Alice's mother, Elizabeth H., consist primarily of letters received (1933) and miscellaneous receipts (1901-1902). These items are accompanied by her school report cards and letters she wrote her father while attending school in Burlington, NJ and Newburgh, NY (1883-1885) as well as letters written while traveling in Europe (1888). Edward B. Renwick's miscellaneous papers include several items related to St. Stephen's Cemetery in Millburn. Genealogical materials relating to the Renwick family are also present, as well as family photographs.
