DuBois Family papers

Dates

  • 1846 - 1934

Scope and Contents

This collection contains the papers (1873-1934), of William N. DuBois, a resident of Hopewell Township, Cumberland County, N.J., consisting chiefly of a receipt book, receipted bills, canceled checks, mortgages and other papers. There are also two small account books: 1) 1846-1863, used first by Edwin Glaspell, but including at least some later entries probably made by S. DuBois; and 2) 1858-1871, apparently kept by S. DuBois (and written in once by a juvenile Mortimer DuBois). William N. DuBois, who might have resided on a farm, had an interest in one or more meadow bank companies and was married to Mary J. (surname unknown), who apparently died in 1930.
