Scope and Contents
Aproximately 92 letters (most accompanied by their envelopes) exchanged by civl engineer Paul Underwood, already teaching at Cornell University where he remained throughout his career, and his future spouse, Eva Humpreys, a Cornell graduate who lived and taught school in Atlantic City, Atlantic County, N.J. (and who became an officer of the Women's Suffrage Club of Atlantic City). Among the topics represented in her letters are women's suffrage, education, marriage equality and Red Cross volunteering; his relate in part to suffrage and education. The impact of World War I is also touched upon.

Per Find A Grave, Paul Underwood, a professor at Cornell University, lived from 1881 to 1963 and his spouse Eva (Humphreys) Underwood, lived from 1881 to 1965. They were married in 1919.
