Scope and Contents
Known to Netter as Aunt Bird, Crosby sold to her the large and important painting of Molly Pitcher being presented to George Washington after the Battle of Monmouth by Dennis Malone Carter. Netter in turn sold the painting to Mrs. J. Amory Haskell, who then donated it to the Monmouth County Historical Association, where it resides today.
