These documents were found rolled in a tin tube with a suitable painted inscription on it. The tube is also part of the Netter collection. See box 13.

Peter F. Randolph (or Fitz Randolph) was a native of the Piscataway area of Middlesex County. He became a prominent businessman in New York City, where he died on 21 December 1872, at the age of 56. The funeral was held at the New Market Baptist Church in Dunellen, New Jersey.
