Scope and Contents

The Professional Files series primarily includes documents about Sperry's career as a sculptor. It also contains materials relating to her work as a jewelry maker, costume and set designer, feminist activist, and guest lecturer. Document types include professional correspondence, project proposals, articles, press releases, lecture transcripts, invoices, exhibition invitations, reviews, installation diagrams, prelimiary drawings, contracts, newspaper clippings, and price lists. Photographs and slides related to correspondence are also included in the series. Of special interest are papers relating to Sperry's work on the television segment "The Medium is the Medium" and documents relating to a payment dispute with Lerner-Heller Gallery in 1982.
