Summary: Twenty notebooks and additional loose papers comprising course outlines, laboratory guides, quiz topics and lecture notes prepared for biology courses at Rutgers College. Four booklets are laboratory guides written by Nelson, which in 1891 evidently belonged to a student, Richard S. Lull. Specific courses represented in this collection are biology and practical bacteriology; other topics represented include hygiene, insects, sanitary science and physiology.
