This series documents Lerman's personal life, with the bulk of the letters from her father, Simon, and later, his caretaker, in Israel, and close friend and fellow artist, Judy Levy. There is also a folder of letters from family in the Ukraine, the Bakuns.

There are some letters and drafts of letters by Lerman. Many of the letters, especially to and from boyfriends, are very personal. Lerman's letters written while traveling go into great detail of her experiences in foreign countries.
