WEG has received an offer from H.H. Bancroft & Co. to compose a series of school textbooks. He is concentrating on writing a primer and speller as well as first, second and third class readers and textbooks on geography, chemistry and physics. WEG notes the small English-speaking social group that has formed in Yedo.
