General

Appraisal and Discard Information: The Table of Contents subseries contains news clippings that should be copied or placed into sleeves.

The 'idiomA—Miscellaneous' folders may have been loose in the box and collected into folders during the earlier processing work. Patrons interested in the production of this issue should request all eight folders.

The following changes and discards were made during processing:

  1. • The original artwork and undeliverable correspondence box were originally described as 'unclaimed art/back issues.'
  2. • Materials belonging to a given issue were generally all together, organized alphabetically by name. Current folder names incorporate the issue number (and may include the submission's status) to provide context and improve searchability.
  3. • Corrugated cardboard sheets were removed during processing and discarded.
  4. • Artworks were placed into sleeves or envelopes.
  5. • Small visuals (i.e., clip art) were placed into envelopes
  6. • Several acidic, tanned, or damaged letters were copied, and the originals discarded.
  7. • The '#23—Work Returned' folders were originally one and split for manageability.
  8. • The materials in folder '#25 (Art of Education)—Editorial Collective—E.A. Racette—Visuals' were originally in an accordion file and labeled to reflect their creator and context.
  9. • The 'Latina/o Arts Info' folders were split into two for manageability.
  10. • The '#27 (Latina) Layout and Art' folder was found in an unlabeled folder within the larger Latina/o Art folder.
  11. • Artworks found in a folder labeled "unclaimed artwork-back issues" were identified by issue number and creator and placed into individual folders.
