Scope and Contents
Lubell 10/5: 144
Watercolor (with ink and wash) of a group of children, two of whom are being pushed in baby carriages, walking through a forest. Some ink details exist, but the most notable element is the wide variety of greens and browns for the trees and foliage of the woods. Against them, the blues, pinks, and yellows of the children’s clothes are extremely noticeable. The actual painted part of the board takes up only around half of the total space; the rest of it is just used as a natural border. Painted on illustration board. Lubell 138-146 are of similar subjects and dates, with the medium for some focusing more on gouache or watercolor and others more on line drawings in pen or graphite pencil.
