Scope and Contents
Lubell 10/4: 137
Watercolor (with graphite pencil and ink) of two rural children, playing while a black cat stretches behind them. Compared to other watercolor pieces of this time period, the actual use of color is understated: the colors are not used as extensively and are much more washed out. The cat's black fur, subsequently, is by far the most visually dynamic part of the piece. Lubell 138-146 are of similar subjects and dates, with the medium for some focusing more on watercolor and others more on line drawings in pen or graphite pencil.
