Scope and Contents
Lubell 10/3: 124
Pretty watercolor (with black ink over graphite pencil) of a menagerie of flowers blooming. While the black ink is used for outlines and some minor detailing, most of the effort has been spent on the extensive coloring. Orange, yellow, blue, pink, and grey are used for petals (with multiple permutations), while green and grown define the stems and many leaves. Like many of these nature drawings, there is no wider background space. Flowers depicted are listed below the title: chicory, even primrose, soapwort,[coreopsis], golden rod, Queen Anne’s lace. Signed Winifred Lubell, Truro ’67.
