Watercolor (with graphite pencil and wash) of a large tree with multiple flowers, possibly cherry blossoms, in bloom. Pencil is used for the outline, but is much more visible when used to define the petals of the upper flowers. Red and yellow wash is used for the trunk and background, respectively, while multiple colors of ink – pink, green, and blue – is used for the buds, leaves, and butterflies. Drawn on paper cut from an artist’s sketchbook.
