Dates

  • (1937)

Scope and Contents

Lubell 3/10: 185b

One of two depictions of the same image, one an aquatint print and the other a drawing. This version is an ink, pastel and wash drawing (with gouache) of a woman wearing a floral hat, a fur-trimmed coat and, what appears to be an apron over the front. The woman has very short stature (the arms in particular are somewhat short for her body type). The aquatint, Lubell 185a, is untitled and shows the woman facing to her right. The drawing, Lubell 185b, is titled The Picket #1 and shows the woman facing to her left. Both are signed W. Milius. Both pieces were in a paper folder titled "Drawing for Aquatint ’37." Lubell 185a is located in the series “PRINTS,” Box 7, Folder 4.
