One of eight ink drawings of people participating in a WPA sit-in strike, and originally housed in a folder labelled “Sit-down strike 1935 or ’36, Chicago”. Each is of a different subject, but all are similar designs, with thick black lines and little shading. This is of four men and a woman in various sleeping positions. White gouache covers changes in the design. Signed W. Milius. On verso is a drawing of two men sitting as if on chairs, with a chair between them. A penciled notation reads “W.
