Scope and Contents

Lubell 3/7: 166

One of eight black ink and wash drawings (with gouache and graphite pencil) from a folder titled Spanish Ballet Costumes, with an additional notation “for Benjamin Zemach, N.Y.C., 1939.” These drawings are of various characters and costumes, presumably done for a New York performance piece. Each identifies the character portrayed. This piece, untitled, is of two women sitting back to back. One is wearing the “Gertrude” costume, and the other a red dress, green shawl and black boots. Signed W. Milius. See Lubell 164-171 for similar drawings.
