Scope and Contents

Lubell 3/7: 164

One of eight black ink and wash drawings (with gouache) from a folder titled Spanish Ballet Costumes, with an additional notation “for Benjamin Zemach, N.Y.C., 1939.” These drawings are of various characters and costumes, presumably done for a New York performance piece. Each identifies the character portrayed. This piece, identified as Zita, shows two young women dancing. The dress, hair and shawl of one is colored, while the other is an ink drawing, with the exception of a colored shawl. “OK” written in the upper left corner. See Lubell 164-171 for similar drawings.
