Scope and Contents

Summary: This series documents CR's concern with the activities of government agencies or commissions including the U.S. Congress and how they relate to consumers, business and the national security of the United States. Included is correspondence, newspaper and magazine clippings and other printed matter. Large segments of this series are related to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the National Bureau of Standards and National Defense. Other agencies include: Agricultural Adjustment Administration, Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Home Economics, Bureau of Mines, Civil Service Commission, Department of Commerce, Environmental Protection Agency, Federal Energy Office, Government Printing Office, Department of Justice, Department of Labor-Consumer Division, National Academy of Sciences, National Commission on Food Marketing, National Commission on Regulatory Reform, National Environmental Health Center, National Research Council/National Academy of Sciences/UNESCO, National Youth Administration, Office of Education, Rural Electrification Administration, Smithsonian Institute, State Legislatures, U.S. Post Office Fraud, and the U.S. Public Health Service.
