Summary: Documents speeches, writings, and other activities of Frederick J. Schlink, founder of Consumers' Research. Includes speeches for CR publicity and writings or magazine articles for publications such as New Republic and Nation (not including the various Consumers' Research publications), correspondence, news clippings, radio talks, course preparations, and conference papers. Also contains Schlink's early technical writings for professional journals. Subjects include activities of CR, the American Standards Association (later the American National Standards Institute), product testing, packaging, standards in library technology, food, appliance testing, business education, communist infiltration (1940), New Deal, NRA, and government and the consumer. Early writings concern office management, product standards, product specifications, mechanical measurement, consumer purchasing, and articles related to the book, Your Money's Worth.
