Scope and Contents

Summary:Primarily documentation of Sisters in Crime's effort to locate a library to which to donate its records and the organization's collaboration with Douglass College at Rutgers University in order to make that gift to the university's library system. Also documents that pertain to the 1998 Sisters in Crime at Douglass College celebration (which included a day of workshops, panels and a SinC exhibit on the campus) and meeting materials for this celebration. Included in the records are correspondence, facsimiles, emails, a sample finding aid, minutes, agendas, broadsides, news clippings, newsletters, publicity folders and book covers.

Of particular interest is correspondence between Douglass College representatives, such as Librarian Francoise Puniello and Dean Barbara Shailor, and Meyers over the conditions of donating SinC's records, which show the dynamics of an organization presenting its archives to an institution, as well as the reasoning behind SinC wanting to donate its records.

Incorporated in this series are some materials collected by Douglass College, for exhibition during the Sisters in Crime at Douglass College celebration, that were not actually part of the records donated by Meyers.
