Summary: The scrapbook contains personal memorabilia from Richardson's time at Bound Brook High School through his graduation from Oxford University. Included are press clippings about academic and athletic events, programs from competitions and social engagements, some pieces of early correspondence and documentation regarding Richardson's extra-curricular activities at Rutgers, as well as information pertaining to his Rhodes Scholarship.
Among the specific materials included are programs and dance cards from high school and college events; "Phrenological Character of Roy Richardson," 1907; various articles regarding Richardson's achievements; an article from the Unionist Gazette, written by a 9-year-old Richardson, about the inauguration of President Roosevelt; some documents relating to Richardson's service as editor of the Targum and as business manager of the Scarlet Letter while at Rutgers; documents relating to Richardson's first teaching job; and articles and documents relating to Richardson's Rhodes Scholarship and his time at Oxford University.
