Scope and Contents

Summary: Appointments to Practice Law: consists of applications, statements of recommendation and certificates to practice before various U.S. courts as well as certificates from the American Bar Association and the American Judicature Society.

Personal Citations: includes certificates and accompanying documentation in recognition of Richardson's service, support and leadership from organizations such as the New York Committee of the National War Fund, the American Cancer Society and the Brooklyn Division of the Protestant Council, as well as the Rutgers University Citation of the President from the All University Development Committee.

Collegiate Awards: includes academic diplomas and athletic awards from Rutgers University, including Richardson's 1951 honorary law degree, as well as a membership certificate and an award from Delta Upsilon, the fraternity to which he belonged.
