Charles Rhind To John Townsend, Albany. New York. ALS., 1823, September 6
Dates
- 1823, September 6
Scope and Contents
Your letters of 2d, 3d, and 5th received relative to preparation of the Kent for a night boat. Have consulted W.L. and Thomson and they agree it is best to do it at once permanently as a temporary thing would be so much lost money. Expect to be ready between 15th and 20th inst. Daily boats under discussion with R.L. Doubt if we can arrange the line for night boats all at once. Report on condition of the Chancellor and the Richmond. Colden will have informed you about Chancellor Lannings queer bill in chancery. Nothing but trouble is to be expected in steam affairs and we are always ready to meet it.
