Favor of 3rd received. Discussion of business of the Company pertaining to operation and construction of boats which now is being suspended by Mr. L. who insists nothing may proceed without a resolution of the Company. Comments upon responsibility carried without such resolutions and lack of director's meeting from Dec. l821 to Nov. l822. Other matters pertaining to the boats and business mentioned. Reports from advisors in Washington indicate case will be among last argued. Judge Livingston is so ill that if he survives he is not expected to go back on the bench. We shall then have Chief Justice Spencer, Chancellor Kent or Judge Tompson in his place. Discussion of post office contract, the difficulty Bradley is causing, Meigs fair attitude and Mr. Lynch's comprehension of situation. Postscript: Request that enclosure be sent to Mr. Livingston. It is from Mr. Graham informing him of the state of the suit.
