Account of breakdown of Richmond at Cold Spring. Ice down to Redhook. Thought it prudent to stop at Hudson. Request that passengers be forwarded so as to meet the Fire Fly which leaves New York this evening. It is doubtful that she will reach Hudson, in fact it is not safe. Expect to leave New York on Saturday.
