Charles Rhind To John Townsend, Albany. New York. ALS., 1821, November 13

Dates

  • 1821, November 13

Scope and Contents

Awaiting instructions from R.L.L. to go on with negotiations with Gibbons, have it in mind if we succeed, to get him to be a stockholder. Additional security to your grant (referred to in letter of Nov. 1st) is a part of the constitution by the clause confirming the appropriations for the canal - the idea first suggested itself to Lynch and Colden thinks it correct. Need of ordering timber for new boat emphasized, as well as need of pine wood this season. Old copper weighed less than expected, leaving therefore a balance due Hendricks of $2300.
