Dates

Scope and Contents
Publication in Albany papers respecting the United States is Roorbach's work. The United States now lies at Amboy, all hands discharged but two, and an application has been made for the Company to purchase her. Gibbons yesterday brought an appeal before Judge Livingston in the causes John R. had brought against him in the Marine Court, question of validity of State Grant was to be brought forward. Messrs. Colden & W. Livingston judged it expedient for our Counsel to attend and they did so. An attempt was made to press the question of constitutionality of grant on Judge Livingston who declined it as case did not come under his jurisdiction. in as much as it had not passed through all the courts of the state. No doubt he will deny Gibbons the injunction. Gibbons says he will not stop his boat. Proprietors of the United States are sick of their bargain; Allaire is pretty well committed and no one is sorry for him. Comment on boats of the line and their schedule.
