Refers to withdrawal of opposition of McCoun & some of his friends in Albany, to the bill for an Act of Incorporation of the North River Steam Boat Company due to the insertion of a clause by the Company to "prohibit their company during their contemplated charter from carrying freight." Enclosure: June 6, 1820. John Townsend to Charles Rhind. New York. Albany. Refers to Capt. Parker's claim against the company for loss (of seed) sustained, recommending that he consult Capt. Roorbach and that the bill be paid. ALS. Also: June 16,1820. Charles Rhind to (John) Townsend requesting payment of Capt. Parker's bill. ALS. Also: Undated pencilled note: Roorbach to (John) Townsend indicating that steam boat accounts up to 31st December l820 have been closed so no funds are available to meet this demand. ALS.
