Scope and Contents

Summary: Historical documentation of individuals and organizations associated with the Mohegan Colony Association. This series includes publications, photocopies, transcripts, and written anecdotes concerning individual members and the history of the association. This series includes a publication, event materials, and a collection of songs related to the Ferrer Modern Schools.

The bulk of this series concerns transcripts, carbon copies of speeches, and written anecdotes that detail the history of the association with an emphasis on its earliest years. Several of these records are speeches given by different members of the association during the 50th anniversary celebration in 1973.

Additional materials of potential interest include two drafts of a speech given in honor of Walter Schwartz.

Many of these records do not attribute an author or date and so when applicable have been arranged by subject.

Other items in this series include adhesive stamps with the original seal of the Mohegan Colony Association and a satire of a last will and testament written by a Mohegan resident.
