XII. EVENT FILES

Summary: Documentation of the emphasis given to historical and cultural events by the Mohegan Colony Association. This series includes posters, advertising material, and correspondence related to cultural programs, anniversary events, and member reunions. This series includes records related to five anniversary celebrations, including the 50th and 75th anniversary. Among this material are correspondence, advertising material, a publication compiled for the 50th anniversary, and brief historical anecdotes written by association members. Additional materials in this series include planning materials for a lake celebration and a speech and magnetic reel-to-reel tape recording from a dinner given in honor of Walter Schwartz.

Of particular interest are event posters from 1964 to 1967 for concerts arranged by the Mohegan Colony Association and performed at the Martha Guinsberg Pavilion, including a concert featuring Pete Seeger in 1964.
