VIII. CORRESPONDENCE, 1968-2005

Summary: Includes outgoing correspondence distributed to general members and incoming and outgoing correspondence of Mohegan Colony Association board members. These records contain print-outs of email correspondence generated among board members from 1997 to 2005. This series also includes the personal correspondence of Walter Schwartz and Bill and Florence Stevens.

Walter Schwartz was an active member of the Mohegan Colony Association and acted as a member of the Board of Trustees and as president of the association. His personal correspondence contains incoming and outgoing correspondence unrelated to the Mohegan Colony Association and a copy of a eulogy given by Schwartz in remembrance of Herman Brody. Of particular interest is a newspaper clipping with an English translation from El Mundo (1962) documenting Schwartz and his interaction with Puerto Rican immigrants.

This series also includes Bill and Florence Stevens' personal correspondence, the bulk of which pertains to incoming correspondence from former members of the Mohegan Colony Association in regards to the association's 70^th anniversary.

Additional records include incoming and outgoing correspondence and memorandums regarding complaints with non-members residing in the area surrounding the Mohegan Colony property.
