Scope and Contents
Summary: These photographs primarily document various colony residents, as well as views of Mohegan property. It includes several photographs related to the Stetson Farm, where many residents lived in tents prior to building permanent homes. There are several group photographs of Mohegan Modern School students, including a series of photographs depicting an outdoor play performed by the Children's Playhouse in the late 1920s.
Of particular interest is a group photograph depicting Modern School students and teachers, Jimmy and Nellie Dick, along with a portrait of Jimmy Dick.
Also included are views of the Mohegan Colony property, Maple Row and Paulding Lane, mounted with additional descriptive information most likely written by Florence Stevens, a longtime resident and local historian.
The majority of the photographs consist of group portraits of colony residents from the mid-1930s.
