Scope and Contents
Summary: Scrapbooks and notebooks containing memoranda and promotional information mailed primarily to authorized Lenox retailers.
Scrapbooks: Arranged chronologically by date of mailings.
Scrapbooks, spanning from 1947 to 1964, of mailings sent to authorized Lenox retailers, as well as district managers and school teachers. The mailings are comprised mainly of ad samples, catalogs, pricelists, press releases, product portfolios, order forms and memoranda regarding specific sales and promotions.
One scrapbook, dating from 1962, is comprised entirely of material relating to Oxford Bone China.
Notebooks: Arranged chronologically by date of mailings. Individual items within the notebooks are arranged in reverse chronological order.
Disbound loose-leaf notebooks, spanning from 1963 to 1984, of mailings sent to authorized Lenox retailers. The mailings consist of promotional literature and brochures, annual reports, catalogs, price lists, ad copies and samples, and retail displays, as well as memoranda regarding specific sales and promotions, supply issues and district sales managers. Product lines covered by the mailings include giftware, executive gifts and awards, dinnerware and occasional mentions of Lenox's own brand of dishwasher detergent.
Two notebooks, covering 1983 and 1984, contain significant amounts of interoffice memos (some of which are simply addressed to "Distribution" or "China Distribution List") and memos to district managers, which were not included in previous years' notebooks. One of the two notebooks is also arranged by topic rather than chronologically.
Two notebooks, spanning from 1965 to 1967, are dedicated solely to crystal.
Filed at the end of the sub-series are mailings, spanning from 1965 to 1984, devoted to particular product lines such as jewelry, giftware and cookware, as well as to the Incentive Division and several denoted as national account mailings.
