Scope and Contents
Summary: Documentation of the in-house design work for promotional materials undertaken by Lenox's Creative Services department for Lenox products and products of Lenox subsidiaries. The documents relate to numerous forms of promotional material, including billboards, bag-stuffers, coupons, in-store flyers, newspaper and magazine advertisements, seasonal retail mailers and showroom signage. Included are annotated proofs and mock-ups, traditional and electronic correspondence, invoices from printing and shipping companies, photographs and negatives, transparencies, Retail Requisition (design request) forms, Creative Services sign-off slips and occasional samples of finished products. Files within this series also bear notations regarding either the type of promotional material, the target of the material and/or the product or product line.
Prominently featured are promotional materials for Lenox Factory Outlets (which witnessed numerous store closings in 2003 and 2004) and warehouse sales at Pomona and Cranbury, NJ.
Filed at the beginning of the series are documents organized according to a separate, earlier job numbering system. Filed at the end of the series are documents arranged alphabetically by topic, with each topic covering several Retail Requisitions.
Also included are occasional designs for items not relating to product promotion, such as presentations at management and sales meetings, job fairs and other corporate programs.
One file, dating from 2003, consists of Lenox wedding-themed posters featured on the television series Sex and the City.
