Scope and Contents

Summary: Posters and countertop display cards of varying sizes promoting Lenox products and product lines, contests, demonstrations and sales events. Specific topics covered by the materials include retail Command Performance exhibits, "See How Lenox China is Made" demonstrations, "The Lenox Event," contests for the "At Home in America" campaign, and bridal events and campaigns, such as the 1983 bridal sweepstakes and the 2002 Lenox Bridal Blueprint. Also included are matted Lenox advertisements and mock-ups, at least some of which were likely intended for use at company meetings.

Among the material in this series are posters for two exhibits detailing the china production process, including the traveling exhibit "Creative Artists: A Pictorial Essay" which was featured in department stores, documented examples of which can be found in PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTS/Retail Displays and Events.

The mounted advertisements in this series promote Lenox China and Crystal, Oxford Bone China, Temperware and Lenox china jewelry; they include such advertising campaigns and slogans as "Love leads to Lenox" and "Because art is never an extravagance." Also included in this series are two identical scrapbooks consisting of three-part pages. Each part of a page consists of a photograph of a singular pattern of dinnerware, stemware and flatware, cut into three parts to allow either a dealer or customer to mix and match patterns for coordination purposes.
