Scope and Contents

Summary: Portfolios of suggested Lenox advertising materials for use by dealers in the creation of local newspaper advertisements, as well as loose ad slicks of completed advertisements. The portfolios include advertising mats and related material for multiple product lines, including formal and casual dinnerware, china giftware, crystal stemware, crystal giftware and holiday items. Included in the series are advertising mats, ad slicks, order forms, newspaper layout worksheets and occasional letters of transmittal and tear sheets. Beginning in 1987, the portfolios are bound in the form of three-ring binders; they are represented in subsequent years by packets of replacement pages.

The majority of the loose ad slicks represent newspaper advertisements for mail order collectibles marketed by Lenox Collections and Princeton Gallery (which was owned by Lenox). Additional stray advertising mats and ad slicks represent advertisements for the Dimension shape (1965), Lenox Lighting (1991), Gorham (1992) and national advertising campaigns from 1981, 1986 and 1990.

For additional advertising portfolio material, including items dated prior to 1975, consult DEALER MAILINGS.
