Summary: Records of workshop "Promoting the Exchange of Information and Skills between Women In Local Government Management and Locally Elected Women", funded by the HUD, which tried to address the problem of discrimination against women in local government. Workshops were held in Michigan and California, including such topics as career government women's perceptions of elected women officials. It was believed that the election of more women to office would give the opportunity to appoint more women to higher positions. Published The Workshop: a Guide to Building Bridges between Elected and Management Women in Local Government, 1981. Includes correspondence, proposals, questionnaires given to women working in local government to help design the workshop, applications and workshop materials.
