WOMEN'S EDUCATIONAL EQUITY ACT
Scope and Contents
Summary: Records of continuing education programs funded by the Women's Educational Equity Act (1974), which provided federal funds for schools and organizations to create programs and materials that would actively counter sex-role socialization and stereotyping. The NWEF was subcontracted to design and develop curriculum for universities which were awarded grants. It prepared a model course including a teaching manual, lesson plans, student manuals, and seven training films. Pilot courses were held at University of Michigan and in Omaha, Nebraska in September 1979. Includes correspondence, reports, proposals, press cuttings, resumes of participants, course materials, film scripts and budget information.
