Summary: This series contains information about some of the major issues of concern to NOW. There is literature both for and against abortion and on the creation of Women's Studies and other aspects of education as relates to women. Child care, fair employment practices, the treatment of women in prison, and work toward the passage of the ERA are also topics for which literature was amassed. Finally, there is a letter campaign waged by Union County NOW to fight sexism in ads/media. This was begun after a survey of 800 toys and their related advertising was done by Union County NOW. The findings of rampant sexism in the depiction of boys and girls led to this campaign. Examples of companies specifically targeted were Playskool and American Greetings.
