North Carolina to the State ofN01th Carolina in a letter dated September 11, 1961. An August 1998 letter from historian who was writing a book on racial integration in the United States Naval Academy, requested that Henry answer questions (attached to the letter) about James Lee Johnson, Jr., the first African American to become a midshipman in the 20th century.
